Itineraries

Day 1

Europe adventure starts

Your Europe adventure starts in Sofia! From the airport, Clear all the immigration procedures and proceed via coach to enjoy Lunch at a restaurant. Later Meet your local guide and discover the streets of Sofia. You’ll visit the stunning Aleksandar Nevski Cathedral, the Neo-Renaissance main building of the National Assembly, and the Early Christian St. George’s Rotunda. Transfer to the restaurant for Dinner. Check-in to the hotel. Overnight accommodation in Sofia.

Day 2

Majestic Rila Monastery

Breakfast at the hotel and Check-out. After breakfast, journey continues to Vitosha Mountain. Explore the Boyana Church and journey on to the majestic Rila Monastery. Enjoy Lunch at a Local restaurant. Proceed to Plovdiv. Have Dinner at a restaurant. Check-in to the hotel. Overnight stay in Plovdiv.

Day 3

Plovdiv City Exploration

Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast explore the city of Plovdiv with guide. Plovdi is one of the most ancient cities in all of Europe. Named Eumolpias by the Thracians, Philippoupolis by the Greeks and Trimontium (Three Hills) by the Romans, the city of Plovdiv only received its modern name in the 11th century. It is now imbued with progressive, avant-garde culture and boasts a thriving artistic community. Stroll through the ancient Roman Theater and visit the Ethnographic Museum, housed in the 1847 Kuyumdzhioglu House; with its exquisitely curved roofline, it stands as a beautiful representation of the Baroque-inspired architecture of the time. Afterward, move on to Kazanlak, situated at the foot of the Balkans amidst Bulgaria’s famous rose fields. Here, you’ll visit the extraordinary Thracian Tomb. Please be aware that you will tour the replica, as visits to the original site are seldom allowed. The impressive Thracian necropolis, constructed during the Hellenistic era, displays superb murals, which represent Bulgaria’s only completely-preserved Hellenistic works of art. Enjoy Lunch at a Local restaurant. Journey towards the Veliko Tarnovo, the medieval Bulgarian capital. Visit the onion-domed Russian Church in the village of Shipka and the historical marker at Shipka Peak. Proceed to Veliko Tarnovo. Have Dinner at a restaurant. Checkin to the hotel. Overnight stay in Veliko Tarnovo.

Day 4

Veliko Tarnovo Adventure

Breakfast at the hotel. Check-Out. Begin the tour of Veliko Tarnovo. Venture on to 12th- century Tsarevets and then a short trip to the village of Arbanassi. Visit the Konstantzalieva House and the Nativity of Christ Church. Lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, travel to Bucharest. Have dinner at a restaurant. Check-in to the hotel. Overnight stay in Bucharest. (B, L, D)

Day 5

A Journey to Transylvania

Breakfast at the hotel and Check-out. After breakfast, we’ll depart on a journey to Transylvania. In the afternoon, You’ll arrive in exquisite Sibiu. Have lunch at a restaurant. Enjoy a guided walking tour of the medieval Old Town. Bound for the gorgeous city of Sibiu on the breathtaking Transfagarasan Road, You’ll stop at Curtea de Arges monastery, a major architectural feat with trompe l’oeil cupolas, a soaring façade, and an interior to match. Constructed in the early 1500s, this Romanian Orthodox cathedral is filled with legends surrounding its creation: attempted human flight, deadly ultimatums, and the tragic death of a wife. We will drive to the breath-taking ruins of Poienari Castle, home and nearly inaccessible fortress of Vlad the Impaler. Poenari perches on an impossibly high cliff face, and is protected by ruined walls; visitors must ascend over 1,400 steps in order to gain entry. Vlad reportedly used slave labor to restore it, first arresting members of the aristocracy as traitors and then forcing them into hard labor. Their lives were utterly dispensable, and due to the perilous location and unmerciful circumstances, very few outlived its construction. Have dinner at a restaurant. Check-in to the hotel. Day 6

Church fortress of Biertan

Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out. Transfer from Sibiu to the soaring church fortress of Biertan. The inhabited citadel of Sighisoara marks your next stop. Enjoy Lunch at a local restaurant. After Lunch, transfer to Viscri, a beautifully-preserved rural Transylvanian village. Discover the Viscri fortified church as you arrive, and then join your guide for a leisurely stroll in the village. Tonight, you will enjoy a Transylvanian dinner, a great chance to discover the taste of the region’s traditional cuisine. Check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay in Viscri.

Day 7

Adventure in Dracula’s Castle

Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out. You can spend the morning with some more discoveries in Viscri. Here, you can truly step into the past to experience a way of life lost to the rest of the world. Watch a traditional blacksmith work at his forge, then ride in a horsedrawn cart outside of the village to encounter brick-makers living close to the wild in the old way. If you’d like, a second open-air horsecart ride can be scheduled, allowing you to visit the shepherds living in the hills. Around noon, depart for the legendary Bran Castle (known to many as Dracula’s Castle). Enjoy Lunch at a Local restaurant. Proceed to Brasov and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Dinner at restaurant. Check-in to the hotel. Overnight stay in Brasov.

Day 8

Mountains and Castles

Breakfast at the hotel and Check-out. After breakfast, enjoy a guided walk through the Old Town of Brasov. Explore the towering Black Church and the Old Town square. Depart Brasov and traverse the astonishing mountain scenery to reach Sinaia in the Carpathian Mountains. Visit Peles Castle and stop to view the gorgeous Sinaia monastery. Enjoy Lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch proceeds to Bucharest. Have dinner at a restaurant. Check-in to the hotel. Overnight stay in Bucharest.

Day 9

Constanta Journey

Breakfast at the hotel and Check-out. After breakfast, enjoy a tour to Constanta. Leave the bustle of Bucharest behind and head for Romania's favourite holiday destination on a private tour to the beautiful Black Sea coast. Explore Constanta's ancient Greek and Roman roots at an archaeology museum. Relax on the beach. Have lunch at a local restaurant. Evening transfer back to Bucharest. Dinner at a local restaurant. Check-in to the hotel. Overnight stay in Bucharest

Day 10

Farewell at Bucharest

Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out. Enjoy a guided city tour of Bucharest. Explore Bucharest’s bohemian charm, oversized structures and communist legacy on a half-day city sightseeing tour. Explore Bucharest's bohemian side in the historic city centre. Gaze at the jaw-dropping expanse of the Palace of Parliament, the world's second-largest administrative building. Learn about the rise and fall of Communism in the country at Revolution Square. Enjoy Lunch at a Local restaurant. Evening free time for shopping. Dinner at local restaurant. Transfer to the airport for your departure to Colombo.
