Itineraries

Day 1

Arrival – Vientiane

Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your centrally located hotel. After a short rest, an orientation walk of the Lao Capital is a pleasant way to spend the day, strolling around some of the city’s most historical sites and seeing some of the French colonial architecture. We observe the sunset by the Mekong Riverside until the late evening. And visit Night Market before going to have dinner. Overnight in Vientiane

Day 2

Vientiane – full day city tour - Buddha Park

After breakfast, we start to visit the major sights of the capital; including the oldest WatSisaket with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of WatPrakeo On the way to the famous and sacred structure of That LuangStupa, we will stop to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument We visit the central or ‘Morning Market’ which is a great place for browsing antiques, handmade textiles and gifts. In the afternoon, we continue our sightseeing tour of Vientiane surrounding; visit the impressive Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge and the Buddha Park, a display of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures created by mystical monk on parkland located by the Mekong River. A view of the Atacular sunset over the Mekong River is perfect way to finish the day. Overnight in Vientiane.

Day 3

Vientiane - LuangPrabang

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your onward flight to Luang Prabang. On arrival in LuangPrabang, transfer to the hotel. In the evening, we explore the Night Market, where you can find a lovely selection of souvenirs and handmade textile made by local and hill tribe people surrounding LuangPrabang. Overnight in LuangPrabang

Day 4

LuangPrabang – Kuang Si – Pak Ou

First we visit the morning Phousi Market, where you will see such diverse offerings as dried buffalo skin, local tea and saltpeter among the chickens, vegetables and hill-tribe weavings. Laos is also known for its traditional crafts, and today you will visit local villages of Lao ethnic minority groups at Ban Ouay, a Hmong village, Ban Ou a Laoloum village and Ban Thapene, a Khmu village. This then takes us to the beautiful Khuang Si Waterfall where you can cool off with a refreshing swim in the pools or walk along the forest trails. We then return to LuangPrabang. This afternoon, we embark on a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside, before reaching the mysterious Pak OuCaves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. Along the way, we stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, where they make the local rice wine. On return, we disembark the boat to visit traditional villages, and continue taking a short drive to Ban Phanom, a village famous for its hand weaving. Overnight in LuangPrabang

Day 5

LuangPrabang – City Tour - Departure

Your half day city tour begins with a visit to the Royal Palace Museum, which hosts a range of interesting artifacts. We then head to the magnificent WatXiengthong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical Laotian architecture. We also have time to visit the impressive stupa of WatVisoun and Wat Mai.
